Protostatix has become a fixture in Western Canada's structural engineering industry. With an upcoming move to a new office, and a rising generation of Principals, founder Dino Loutas sought to refresh the identity of his 37-year-young structural engineering firm.
A new logomark was crafted to express a propensity for finding efficient solutions to atypical problems. The logo references a tall-building typology, which the firm has significant experience in, and also represents an ongoing contribution to the greater built environment in western Canada. The wordmark explains the simple, straightforward approach and philosophy of the firm, and reinforces the two parts of the Greek-inspired name: First in Statics.
A full stationery package was designed utilizing a bold blue over clean, white spaces, complimented by the occasional use of surface textures such as concrete – a material often associated with structural capacity and enduring quality. The most dramatic transformation was the implementation of a new responsive website including integration of custom office-life and project portfolio photos.
